I’m very pleased to serve as Eastport Health Care’s Chief Executive Officer. My career is in the community health center world and I’m committed to the inclusive and comprehensive model that provides access to a menu of basic health care services. I’m impressed with the EHC team of engaged employees who want to provide excellent care to patients and who are open and communicative about our work together. EHC’s Board of Directors sets the tone, and it is one of kindness, compassion, and caring. Now that is something I want to be a part of!
I bring health center leadership experience with me, including founding CEO of what grew into a large community health center in rural Pennsylvania. I spent years doing patient education in primary care settings before I moved to developing primary care and dental education, training, recruitment and retention in a large swath of rural Pennsylvania. My work as a health center leader in Pennsylvania and New England taught me to create and manage operational systems, including financial and patient care services. My background also includes a Master of Public Health in Health Behaviors and Community Education. I participated in the Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Executive Fellowship at UCLA. I served on the Board of Pennsylvania Primary Care Association, was awarded Rural Leader of the Year, and appointed by a Pennsylvania’s then Governor to represent community health centers on a statewide commission that accomplished groundbreaking work.
Mostly, I’m an advocate for patients, including our most vulnerable patients. I speak out for communities, our health center, and rural health issues and am an advocate for the health center employees who work hard to serve our patients. I’m extremely proud to be part of a great place with great people.
My priority is serving in a position where my brand of advocacy and leadership is a match for and strengthens the team, the health center, and the community. Here at Eastport Health Care, it is. I’m part of an excellent team, and together we are serving communities in important ways.
My husband and I also wanted to live in a location with unique natural beauty. We’ve always loved this state and couldn’t be more pleased with Eastport and Downeast Maine! It is a spectacular place. "The Atlantic is always beautiful and never boring," says a friend. She is right! Thank you to all who have welcomed me so warmly. We’ve found a special place to call home.
